Light Showers Friday & Saturday
Good afternoon folks! Not much has changed since our previous discussion, except that temps are now expected to only dip a few degrees Friday and Saturday, keeping the stretch of above normal temps alive and well. We'll enjoy a mostly sunny day Wednesday followed by a handful of clouds on Thursday, but sunshine should still win out with rain chances holding off till later in the night. Isolated showers late Thursday night expand to scattered light showers on Friday as the front approaches from the northwest, with light showers continuing into Saturday, ending by the late afternoon - early evening hours. High pressure briefly influences the region Sunday and Monday and brings us sunshine Sunday with high clouds later in the day Monday. A second front will swing through Tuesday of next week and it looks similar to the frontal passage on Friday with very light rain chances and a minor cooldown at best. One more bit of information to note. We do not foresee any freezing or near freezing temps this week or next; we typically should be in the upper 30's - mid 40's this time of year.
Wednesday and Thursday will provide enough sunshine to push temps into the mid 60's - mid 70's depending upon elevation each afternoon, however Thursday may feel slightly cooler as high clouds build during the afternoon hours. Overnight lows dip into the low - mid 50's Wednesday night under partly cloudy skies, settling into the low - upper 50's Thursday night under increasing clouds.
Mostly cloudy skies will be overhead Friday through Saturday and there is a chance some sun pokes through but overall it will be a gray, flat couple of days, especially with light showers developing over the 48 hour period. Light showers begin Thursday night closer to sunrise and expand to scattered coverage Friday, scaling back Friday after midnight but ramping back up again Saturday late morning. All of this amounts to a very light 0.10 - 0.25" of rain over the two day period so keep your outdoor plans, just dress for a brief light shower. Temps cool down to the low 60's - low 70's depending upon elevation both days, with overnight lows in the mid - upper 50's each night; showers end Saturday evening.
High pressure clears out any lingering clouds early Sunday, setting the stage for sunshine that should extend into Monday, although high clouds will likely move in shortly after midday on Monday. Temps hold to the low 60's - low 70's depending upon elevation each afternoon, alongside overnight lows in the 50's.
We'll stop here but remember a second round of light rain moves through Tuesday of next week. Our next discussion will come out Thursday. Enjoy the warmer weather!
