Summer Conditions Return Saturday

Good afternoon folks! We're closing the books on Thursday as I type this discussion, so we'll focus our attention on Friday through Tuesday of next week. The upper level low is to our north and will slowly migrate north and east on Friday, taking till Sunday to be fully absorbed into the overall flow. An upper level trough will migrate toward the area as the weekend progresses, culminating in a frontal passage early Wednesday morning, but we'll deal with region-wide rainfall beforehand on Tuesday. Temps will continue to climb with each passing day, reaching the upper 70's Friday, low - mid 80's this weekend and possibly the upper 80's by Monday; mid 80's Tuesday and Wednesday. Scattered showers will once again rule the day on Friday, followed by an increase in sunshine Saturday with a few showers and coverage picks back up on Sunday and Monday as southwesterly flow pushes excess moisture back into the region.

Enjoy the upper 70's across the lower elevations Friday afternoon (if you like cooler weather) as we deal with another day of passing clouds and light - moderate scattered showers that will pop up after midday, scaling back after sunset to only isolated showers. Temps Friday night bottom out to the low - upper 50's once again under partly cloudy skies.

Saturday and Sunday are similar enough to lump together as temps push into the upper 60's along the ridgelines, while the valleys push into the low - mid 80's. Saturday will feature more sunshine than Sunday and shower coverage will also increase Sunday over Saturday, with a better chance for thunderstorms. Keep your outdoor plans for Saturday but keep an eye on Sunday afternoon, or better yet, push up your plans to avoid the late afternoon shower activity. Overnight lows will dip into the mid 50's - low 60's each night alongside a chance for isolated showers.

Southwesterly flow ramps up Monday and we'll notice the uptick in moisture levels beginning Sunday afternoon, setting the stage for another round of scattered showers Monday. Temps will warm to the low 70's - upper 80's as we start the day with sunny skies, but end it with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Tuesday brings us region-wide showers as a front nears the area, crossing the region around sunrise on Wednesday; temps will hold to the low - mid 80's both days.

We'll stop here and circle back Saturday evening with a look at Sunday through Wednesday of next week.
