Good afternoon folks! Our weather remains quiet as we close out the weekend and we don't expect much change till later in the week. The only excitement is that temps slowly warm to above average levels by Wednesday and Thursday. We are only expecting temps anywhere from 6 - 8 degrees above normal, so nothing too warm but a nice break from the cooler temps as of late. Several disturbances pass overhead early this week, followed by a frontal passage early Friday and possibly a low pressure system next weekend. Even with this train of disturbances passing overhead or nearby, we'll only experience light rain at best and many spots around SW NC will remain dry through Thursday.
Temps Monday climb to the low 40's - mid 50's after clouds clear early in the day, allowing sunshine to warm us to near normal levels; upper 50's is normal for the valleys this time of the year. Clouds return Monday night, capping temps to the low - mid 30's across the entire region.
Sunshine and a few high clouds make up the action for Tuesday, while sunny skies sit overhead Wednesday. Temps go from the low 40's - mid 50's Tuesday to the upper 40's - low 60's Wednesday. Overnight lows Tuesday night dip into the upper 20's - mid 30's under clear skies, but only make it to the mid - upper 30's Wednesday night as high clouds approach the region.
High clouds sit overhead most of the day Thursday, lowering and thickening closer to sunset, however temps will still climb to the upper 40's - mid 60's depending upon elevation, making it the warmest day of the week. Isolated showers break out overnight into Friday and continue into Saturday and how much rain is still yet to be determined, but overall it does look like a light rain event. Temps will cool to levels similar to Monday and Tuesday next weekend.
We'll post another discussion Tuesday afternoon, focusing on the upcoming rain event and slight cool down for next weekend.
