Fair Weather into Monday; Cloudy Tuesday
Good afternoon folks! The weekend looks pleasant with sunshine overhead and temps a handful of degrees below normal, with fair weather extending into Monday. Two disturbances swing through early next week, the first later in the day Monday and the second Tuesday. Both of these will be moisture starved and at this time we only passing clouds, with sunshine returning Wednesday. Our next possibility for precip occurs Thursday of next week, but we are too far out in time dive into the details. Temps all the while warm to slightly below normal levels this weekend, cooling down to levels roughly 8 - 10 degrees below normal (low 50's for the valleys), with a warm-up likely for late next week.
Sunshine dominates the landscape Saturday through Monday and temps will respond as they push into the low - mid 40's along the ridgelines, while the valleys reach the mid - upper 50's. Sunday will likely be the warmest day of the weekend and temps cool down a hair on Monday, only reaching the mid 40's - mid 50's depending upon elevation. Overnight lows dip into the upper 20's - mid 30's depending upon elevation each night, with clouds increasing Monday night into Tuesday as the first disturbance passes overhead. This is not welcomed news for the regional ski resorts as snowmaking efforts will likely be put on hold till temps become cold enough, which might come back around sometime late next week.
Tuesday features high clouds overhead due to the second disturbance passing through, with temps holding to the upper 30's - low 50's across the region. Clouds clear out Tuesday night and sunshine returns Wednesday, with highs bouncing back to the mid 40's - upper 50's depending upon elevation.
We'll wait till Sunday to post our next discussion, with a more detailed look at the possible light rain event next Thursday/Friday.
