Passing Showers Late Sunday/Monday
Good morning folks! We'll be dealing with temps roughly 7 - 10 degrees above normal today through the end of next week, but at least isolated to scattered shower chances will be around today through Monday. Late Sunday into Monday will be our best window for shower development and rainfall totals will be under a half inch, so although showers may provide us with some relief, it wont amount too much and nothing we can bank on. Dry weather really sets in Tuesday and we expect only sunny skies till the end of next week.
This weekend will have some pleasant moments, more so during the morning and late evening hours as we deal with temps pushing into the upper 60's along the ridgelines, while the valleys roast in the low - mid 80's. Sunshine will dominate the landscape today with isolated thunderstorm chances along the highest ridgelines and on Sunday scattered showers are possible closer to sunset. Overnight lows dip into the mid 50's - low 60's each night, with clear skies tonight and partly to mostly cloudy skies Sunday night as the front approaches the region.
The front is expected to sweep the region Monday, exiting before sunset and temps will reach the mid 60's - low 80's, which is likely to be our coolest day of the week. Temps soar to the low 70's - mid 80's Tuesday and hold to these levels the rest of the week, with upper 80's possible on Thursday. Sunshine will sit overhead Tuesday through Friday as an upper level ridge holds firm across the eastern portion of the United States, with not much relief looking into next weekend.
Our next discussion will come out Monday afternoon, focusing on the heat wave and hopefully some relief down the line.
