A Boring but Pleasant Forecast
Good afternoon folks! The next handful of days will be quiet across the region, with the only action being scattered light showers on Thursday as a low passes to our south. For those wishing for snow or some form of wintry precip, it seems that is not possible this go around as the bulk of the precip remains to our south and temps moderate slowly through the week. Sunshine overhead today will continue into Tuesday and Wednesday, returning Friday after the short lived rain event. Temps slowly moderate as the week moves along and although they will be slightly below normal, it will be spring like outside with cold morning and warm afternoons.
Temps tonight settle into the low 20's for the valley, while the ridgelines dip into the mid - upper 20's due to ideal radiational cooling conditions across the valley; not so much for the ridgelines with NW winds around 15mph. Clear skies overhead tonight will carry over into Tuesday with abundant sunshine throughout the day. Temps on Tuesday climb to the upper 30's along the ridgelines, to the low - mid 50's for the valleys, returning to the low - upper 20's Tuesday night under another round of clear skies.
Wednesday keeps sunny skies overhead and clouds are expected to return overnight into Thursday, ahead of the light rain event. Temps Wednesday and Thursday reach the low - mid 40's across the higher elevations and mid - upper 50's for the valleys, with overnight lows in the low - mid 30's both nights. Spotty light showers sweep the region Thursday but we don't expect much rain to fall with totals under a quarter inch at best and the possibility exists for some sunshine to poke through the cloud cover late in the day. Clearing skies occur Thursday night, setting up a gorgeous end to the work and school week.
Friday through Sunday at this time look dry, however one of the models is showing a small window for precip late Friday, but we are dismissing that solution as the majority of models keep our region dry; something to keep an eye on. Temps continue their climb as they hit the upper 40's - low 60's Friday, maxing out to the mid 50's - upper 60's Sunday!
Our next discussion will come out late Wednesday afternoon. Till then, enjoy the sunshine and spring like weather!
