Ridgeline Snow; Perfect Sun - Tues
Good morning folks! Its currently (10am) snowing across the highest ridgelines above 5500', with a dusting already reported from Mt Mitchell from Evan Fisher, who is worth a follow on Twitter, FB, or Instagram. Today (Saturday) will be a less than ideal day as cloudy skies and light scattered showers pepper the region through at least the mid afternoon hours, fizzling out and scaling back to the TN line by sunrise on Sunday. The highest elevations above 5500' should pick up a

Damp, Chilly thru Sat; 1st Flakes of the Season?
Good morning folks! I was not able to post a discussion yesterday (Wednesday) as planned due to an oversight on my part, thinking I could get at least one ounce of signal at the campground we stayed this week, but alas, nature won out and my digital connection failed. The color is beginning to turn and will continue to keep its current turnover pace through the weekend and next week, with another cold snap exp

Sunny Weekend; Much Cooler Saturday
Good morning folks! Looks like freezing temps will be hard to come by over the next 5 - 7 days, even across the highest elevations, with our only shot being Friday night, but even then low temps around 5500 - 6400' look to dip into the mid - upper 30's. A cold front is currently entering our region this morning (Thursday) and will take most of the day and night to exit to the east, but we'll be treated to a round of light - moderate rain late this morning, continuing through
