Gorgeous this Weekend; Two Fronts Next Week
Good afternoon folks! Fair weather is expected to continue into Friday and through Sunday evening, with a weak frontal passage occurring Monday that will bring isolated showers late Sunday night. Dry and sunny weather quickly follow the front with sunny skies likely to end the day on Monday, followed by more sunshine Tuesday and then a second frontal passage early Wednesday. This second front is likely bring us more rain than the first round and the models are currently stuck

Sunny and Cool through Thursday
Good morning folks! Sorry for the radio silence these past two days. The website hosting company we subscribe with went down Sunday afternoon and didn't come back online till late Monday evening. Good news is the weather hasn't changed much and will stay the same over the next five days, so you haven't missed anything. Monday morning was fairly cold across the area for mid November with Mt LeConte claiming the coldest spot at 20°F, while Mt Mitchell dipped to 21°F with a 1°F

Annual Rainfall Record set in Highlands
Good afternoon folks! Although we cut our forecast totals in half just as the event was unfolding, the final totals ended up somewhere between the two with most of SW NC picking up 2 - 2.5" of rain Monday evening into Thursday morning. The Southern Highlands Plateau did quite well, collecting 4 - 5" from Highlands to Toxaway Mountain and back up and along the Great Balsams, with Highlands in particular picking up just enough to break its own annual rainfall record of 125.46"

Heavy Rainfall Tues PM - Thur AM
Minor Update: 11/11/20 9:15am Quick update as the the models begin to hone in on Eta's track, with a trend that results in a dry weekend for our neck of the woods. The models are now forecasting to take Eta back over northern Florida, moving northeast and away from our region. This coupled with a possible high pressure system to our northwest by the end of the week will result in a sunny weekend and temps will start a downward trend beginning Saturday. Soupy by Tuesday; Heavy Rain Wed
Good afternoon folks! After a pleasant stretch of dry and sunny days we will make up for it with a stretch of muggy and wet days beginning Tuesday, possibly not winding down till next weekend or the following Monday. Temps will continue to be well above normal, especially overnight lows as they only dip into upper 50's - low 60's, which is typically close to our normal high for mid November. Regionwide rainfall totals will range from 2 - 5" Monday evening through Friday night
