Light Snow Thur Night; 80's on Sunday
Good afternoon folks! Yesterday's storms sure were something and one station just outside of Hendersonville picked up 6.89"! Most of SW NC picked up the expected 2 - 3", although some locations closer to the TN line barely squeezed out an inch. We are dealing with a NW flow setup today (Thursday) and this will carry over into Friday morning with a gradual shift to a westerly flow by the weekend. Strong Storms Wednesday Evening
Good afternoon folks! Mt LeConte picked up an inch of snow and a dusting occurred at Newfound Gap early Monday morning, with rime coating a size-able portion of the high elevation ridgelines. Things are still on track for a widespread rain event Wednesday and the timing should be roughly the same since our last discussion, with a focus of heavy rain and strong winds during the evening hours. Widespread Rain on Wednesday
Good afternoon folks! We are wrapping up the weekend on a slightly chilly note as NW flow continues across the region, with spotty showers expected to carry over into the pre dawn hours on Monday. Temps will drop enough tonight to kick rain over to snow across the highest ridgelines but we'll start out the work week with clearing skies and sunshine, allowing temps to warm up a bit. Rain and Ridgeline Snow this Weekend
Good afternoon folks! We are closing out the work week this afternoon, looking ahead at a round of widespread showers that'll move through the region Saturday afternoon. Spotty showers will linger across the area on Sunday and it will be noticeably colder, so much so that snow showers will fall overnight into Monday above 4500' for locations along the TN line. A Soaker Thursday; Showers Saturday
Good afternoon folks! We are in for a rainy Thursday with possible thunderstorms closer to sunset and shower activity will down for a vast majority of the region by Friday morning, however a few showers will cling to the TN line. Sunshine will return Friday closer to midday but this fair weather will be short lived as another disturbance approaches the region late Friday night, arriving sometime Saturday around midday.
