More Snow Friday; Warm by Sunday
Good morning folks! Many of us woke up to snow falling, on the ground or both and although we called for snow to fall with light accumulations on the ridgelines, we did not expect the numerous reports of a light dusting up to a half inch; heck, even Highlands had accumulating snow! The snow is over as of the mid morning hours and we will be dealing with a cold yet sunny day, with a blustery setup that will make it feel much colder than what we see on the thermometer. Moisture

Low 60's Tuesday; Upper 30's Thursday
Good morning folks! It's Tuesday morning and we are watching showers exit to the east, with high clouds continuing across the Southeast. We'll enjoy a break in the rain today but high clouds stick around, while temps soar to the low 60's across the valleys. A front returns Wednesday afternoon, bringing with it spotty showers to start and light snow to end the event, mainly for the higher elevation ridgelines closer to the TN line. Colder air pours into the region as the front

Showers Monday; Low 60's Tuesday
Good afternoon folks! We're wrapping up the weekend on a dry and warm note, but we'll start off the work week with showers moving into the area. A few flakes will fall across the higher elevations above 4500' to start the event, but all precip will fall as rain past midday. Heavy and widespread showers move through the area Monday night and showers wind down through the morning hours on Tuesday, with temps peaking for the week Tuesday afternoon. An upper level trough swings a

Sunny and Warm this Weekend
Good morning folks! Yesterday's snowfall was an overall disappointment to the vast majority of folks living in SW NC as the higher elevations seemed to be the only spot where snow accumulated. After pouring over the local observations from the NWS and social media, it seems our SNOWCAST Map verified for the those throughout the Southern Highlands Plateau where Highlands picked up an official 3.8" (max forecast amount was 4"); numerous locations nearby also reached the 3" mark

Region Wide Snow Thursday
Good morning folks! We are less than 24 hours out from a region wide snow event, but this will be a rather light event for SW NC, although the higher elevations above 5000' will cash in with 3" plus totals. The real winners will be somewhere along the NC coast, perhaps closer to SE Virginia, as their totals could eclipse 6", with some models pointing to near a foot! Back to our neck of the woods, we only expect a general 1 - 3" of snow across the region, however this event wi
